Professional Career, Achievements, and Contributions
Mr. Abdellatif Kabbaj is today recognized as one of Morocco’s leading tourism and hospitality professionals. He is also among the most deserving figures in the sector, having built his remarkable career through hard work, discipline, perseverance, and dedication.
His professional journey began at Palais Jamaï, where he was recruited as a receptionist. He remained there until 1973, when he moved to London to further develop his expertise, notably at the “Les Ambassadeurs Club” hotel.
His strong attachment to his homeland led him back to Morocco when Maroc Tourist, a subsidiary of the CDG Group, invited him to join the company. There, he contributed his expertise to the development of several new hospitality units within the group.
Known for successfully handling challenging assignments, he rose to the position of General Inspector of the hotel chain, where he supervised the development of twenty hotel properties across the country. He also served as General Manager of several hotels within the group before leaving in 1983 to manage a family-owned industrial business.
After three years, his passion for tourism brought him back to the hospitality industry. He joined Dounia PLM, led by Abdelhadi Alami, as Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he contributed to the construction of the Marrakech Congress Palace and supported the group’s expansion through organizational, commercial, and development missions, including new hotel projects such as Les Omeyyades in Agadir, Karam in Ouarzazate, and Mansour Eddahbi in Marrakech.
In 1990, he took over the Kenzi Hotels Group, a company specialized in hotel management, bringing a new level of expertise, professionalism, operational rigor, and industry know-how to the Moroccan hospitality sector. Today, the Kenzi Hotels Group manages a network of approximately ten hotel properties with nearly 2,200 rooms and is recognized as a major employer, with a workforce of more than 2,500 employees.
Founder of Kenzi Hotels with a Forward-Looking Vision
Mr. Abdellatif Kabbaj is far more than a pioneer of modern hotel professionalism. He is a visionary leader whose success is rooted in the firm belief that sustainable performance is the result of collective commitment. Beyond the efforts deployed within Kenzi Hotels establishments, Mr. Kabbaj has consistently demonstrated his ability to unite talents and align resources toward a single objective: ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction and well-being.
Since its creation, the Group has been committed to building a true “Kenzi community,” founded on shared values and a common vision. Deeply rooted in a responsible approach, these values unite teams around a passion for hospitality, the pursuit of excellence, respect for cultural heritage, and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.
